After retiring from the medical field, I found a new passion in antique furniture and vintage items. The appreciation for these timeless pieces runs deep in my family, dating back to my grandfather, Grandpa Fay. From 1923 to 1950, he owned a furniture store and a woodcarving/décor shop until his retirement in 1968.
In the quiet corners of his yard, Grandpa Fay planted five black walnut trees—the very wood he cherished for its beauty and versatility, not for himself, but with a vision that someday, these trees would be transformed into furniture for others to enjoy. Much like the deep roots of those black walnut trees, my appreciation for the enduring beauty of wood grew solid and tall.
When it came time for a new career, my heart naturally gravitated towards working with and restoring beautiful antique furniture. Each piece tells a story, and bringing them back to life brings me pure joy. How fortunate am I to continue a legacy rooted in craftsmanship and a love for the timeless elegance of wood?
